Pileh Wall – Description

Pileh Wall is a dive site that stretches along Phi Phi Leh Island’s east coast,  south of the entrance of the famous landmark called Pileh Lagoon. The fairly shallow depth and mild currents make it an easy and relaxed dive, perfectly suitable for our sunset dives on MV Giamani. Most of Pileh Wall dive site is exactly what the name says, a wall. The sheer limestone cliff that we see outside of the water continues straight underwater with little exceptions, offering a different scenery from most of the other Phi Phi Islands Dive Sites. The wall is mostly covered by many different species of soft corals and nice gorgonian sea fans. Looking into the cracks and crevices is always possible to spot different types of shrimps and moray eels, and if look closely on the rocks it’s often possible to find some colorful nudibranch. There is a tiny bay located halfway across Pileh Wall dive site which is the only exception to the otherwise homogeneous seascape, as here the wall temporarily turns into a nice slopy reef with several coral bommies scattered around the sandy slope.
